YCN ALPHABET

This alphabet was created for the YCN annual book 07/08. 26 different designers and illustrators were invited to create a letter, reflecting the wide variety of creative work within the publication.
Alex Bec, the book’s art director was given a very broad brief which asked for a typeface which could be used both as a 2D typeface and as 3D title page photographs.
Some of the contributions included a letter W made from wax, a perspex A, a chocolate marshmallow D and a pinata J.

here is some work they have done for Black Hole which is a snowboarding company. and an image from one of there exhibitions (2008) they have a unique character style, which has street art influences. i like the the modern character style they use because it creates interesting expressions and the unique style draws you in to see if you can find any hidden meaning.

Illustration and Exhibition work
this is a Japanese design team which i found in issue 118 of the computer arts projects which is a Japanese based issue.
they have a unique style of detailed illustration which work well as it is not typical of the traditional style, as it has been taken away for the anime (manga) style which is used more frequently by Japanese illustrators of today. This work works well in exhibitions, this has brought authenticity to there style.

NANOSPORE is a Los Angeles based company made up of two designers, Paul Hwang and Ben Lee. Their fresh, clean design sense is apparent through their silkscreen prints, toys, and other art made by the duo. Both artists individually have previously worked on separate projects of different genres and decided to collaborate and create Nanospore. They are currently collaborating with other artists and companies in developing new projects for the cute, invading spores.
